CAMBRIDGE FAMILIES OF COLOR COALITION
We are a collective of Families of Color dedicated to nurturing, empowering, celebrating, and uplifting one another and our students. Our work is deeply rooted in racial, social, and economic equity principles. Our ultimate goal is to create a vibrant and supportive community where Students and Families of color can thrive academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
CFCC has become an indispensable part of the Cambridge community, fostering meaningful connections and collaborations with city leaders, organizations, and affinity groups to address the unique needs of families of color. We actively engage with city leaders to discuss services and policies impacting our community, ensuring our voices are heard, and our concerns are addressed. We work collectively to effect positive change through strategic partnerships with esteemed entities such as the City of Cambridge, the Mayor's office, and Cambridge Public Schools. By convening in a spirit of joy and action, we create spaces where people can come together, share ideas, and collaborate on initiatives that uplift and empower our community. These collaborations serve as powerful vehicles for progress and enable us to build a stronger, more inclusive Cambridge.
Our Vision
At CFCC, we envision a future where Caregivers and Students of Color feel empowered to actively participate in decisions concerning their education. We strive to equip them with the knowledge and resources necessary to effectively access and utilize available support systems. Our vision includes the establishment of an anti-racist district where Caregivers and Students of Color are valued above all else, knowing that their lives, achievements, and excellence matter.
What We Do...
Support Students of Color:
Our focus is centered on providing support to Students of Color, ensuring their unique needs are addressed and prioritized.
Educational Advocacy:
We actively engage as educational advocates for Families and Students of Color during school meetings across the district, at all levels, to ensure their voices are heard, and their educational rights are upheld.
Celebration of Culture
Experience a vibrant array of community-focused events that celebrate the diverse aspects of our culture. CFCC curates and organizes a wide range of engaging activities that honor and showcase our rich heritage. These events, among many others, provide opportunities for our community to connect, uplift, and celebrate the beauty of our collective cultural identities.
Community Spaces:
CFCC creates safe and inclusive spaces for Families of Color to share their concerns, exchange ideas, and collaborate to support their children's educational needs.
Information Sharing:
We provide valuable information and guidance to new and existing Families of Color, helping them navigate the CPS systems and access the resources available to them.
